Pietra dura–style inlaid stone table
A striking Italian pietra dura–style inlaid stone table, featuring a richly detailed black ground top with classical decorative motifs.
The rectangular top is divided into radiating panels, each inlaid with finely cut hardstones forming musical instruments, birds, florals, scrolling foliage, and neoclassical ornament. The central medallion anchors the composition with symmetrical botanical detailing framed by geometric banding in warm ochres and soft greens.
The precision of the inlay and the vibrant contrast against the dark background give the piece strong Grand Tour and Florentine revival references.
The top rests on a sculptural wrought-iron base with elegant curved legs and cross stretchers, adding an architectural, almost console-like lightness to the otherwise richly ornamented surface.
A dramatic statement piece suitable as:
- A centre table in a loggia
- A dining table in a formal space
- A grand entry hall table
- A decorative focal point in a layered contemporary interior
